About The Position

Lead Cybersecurity Engineering for Mission-Critical Systems as a Senior ISSE! DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to lead security engineering design and validation for hybrid and classified systems. In this role, you’ll define and implement advanced controls aligned to NIST 800-53 and DoD IA frameworks, ensuring systems meet rigorous accreditation and compliance standards. You will provide expert technical guidance during architecture reviews, conduct risk analysis, and mentor engineers across multiple security disciplines. Requirements

  • Expertise in NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD 8500 series control frameworks.
  • Proficiency with eMASS, ACAS, Nessus, Tenable.sc, and STIG automation tools.
  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and compliance automation platforms.
  • Strong background in security risk management and secure systems engineering.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of related professional experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline (Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Network Engineering, Engineering, or Computer Science). In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, two additional years of related experience may be substituted. A Master’s degree in a related engineering discipline may be substituted for two years of experience. A PhD in a related engineering discipline may be substituted for an additional two years of experience.
  • Certifications : Security+ Required
  • Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of secure architectures and compliance baselines for hybrid and classified systems.
  • Perform penetration testing, risk analysis, and system configuration reviews.
  • Advise development teams on secure design and coding best practices.
  • Coordinate with ISSMs and Authorizing Officials (AOs) to ensure accreditation and RMF readiness.
  • Review RMF packages for accuracy and completeness, mentoring junior engineers on process adherence.
