As the ISSE, your responsibilities will include: System Security Design and Implementation: Develop system architectures and security designs that align with mission requirements and meet RMF and DoD security policies. Integrate cybersecurity solutions into spacecraft systems, ground systems, and mission operations. Apply security controls and mitigation strategies throughout the system lifecycle to address threats and vulnerabilities. Lead the implementation of RMF processes to ensure secure system development, deployment, and operation. Create and maintain documentation for Authorization to Operate (ATO) submissions, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and security assessment reports. Coordinate with Authorizing Officials and other DoD stakeholders to obtain and sustain the system's ATO. Analyze test results and prepare recommendations for system hardening and risk reduction. Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve identified security gaps and enhance system resilience. Develop and implement procedures for detecting, reporting, and responding to potential security incidents. Assist operations teams with real-time cybersecurity monitoring to identify and mitigate threats. Work closely with program managers, system architects, engineering teams, and external contractors to ensure cybersecurity requirements are met. Prepare cybersecurity documentation, including risk analysis reports, mitigation plans, technical white papers, and system certifications.
