About The Position

This role is an opportunity to contribute to critical water treatment systems that drive efficiency and sustainability in industries like Food & Beverage, Energy, Manufacturing, and more. The Information Systems Business Central Consultant will be responsible for driving system changes, enhancements, and continuous improvements within the ERP platform supporting Grundfos Water Treatment Americas. This includes taking ownership of the Business Central application, ensuring system stability, alignment with business requirements, and transparency of ongoing initiatives handled by external suppliers. The consultant will also act as a coordinator, maintaining a clear functional overview of the solution landscape, prioritizing requests, collaborating with business stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to Grundfos IT governance standards. This position is critical for supporting digital growth, harmonization efforts, and process optimization across American business units and will contribute to the development of a global Application Solution organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV) in a consulting or application specialist capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in BC configuration, customization, and core functional areas, such as Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Warehousing, or Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating external vendors or support partners, ensuring quality deliverables and clear communication.
  • Extension Development using Microsoft AL Language.
  • Solid understanding of application lifecycle management, IT security principles, and change‑management processes (e.g., version control, structured deployment workflows).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business‑friendly language.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, work independently, and drive tasks and solutions end‑to‑end in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Demonstrates customer centricity and builds strong relationships with business stakeholders.
  • High degree of accountability and ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration mindset—comfortable working in a global environment.

  • Deep functional understanding of Business Central and its application to business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, customize, and enhance Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central based on business needs.
  • Analyze requirements, translate them into functional/technical specifications, and ensure high‑quality implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities and support system optimization across business processes.
  • Ensure solution design complies with global Grundfos IT architecture guidelines.
  • Ensure continued documentation of solutions. Knowledge transfer to peers, end-users, and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary coordinator between business stakeholders and external BC support vendors.
  • Maintain an overview of all ongoing tasks, ensuring clarity in scope, deadlines, and responsibilities.
  • Evaluate vendor deliverables and ensure solutions meet quality standards and business expectations.
  • Handle selected 2nd‑level support requests related to BC system functionality.
  • Communicate proactively with the business, providing transparency, expectation management, and solution recommendations.
  • Support change management activities, including training, documentation, and adoption.
  • Ensures the ERP platform supports day‑to‑day operations with minimal disruption.
  • Provides clear communication, timely delivery, and trusted guidance to the business.
  • Maintains overview and quality control of all BC-related tasks and enhancements.
  • Converts business needs into high‑quality system solutions with measurable value.
  • Ensures adherence to Grundfos IT processes, security, and governance policies.
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Water Treatment Americas safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance with Water Treatment Americas internal quality standards.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Water Treatment Americas Delegation of Authority.
  • Other duties as assigned.
