About The Position

Are you looking for an opportunity to share your experience in information system security to safeguard our nation? As an information system security engineer, you can identify the system security needed to assess vulnerabilities and recommend the best solution and security strategy. We need your experience to lead the implementation of a cross-domain system that will secure the enterprise. In this role, you'll use your knowledge and experience to assess security threats and implement infrastructure controls. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with information systems security
  • Experience developing technical security solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Experience enforcing accountability, access, and special handling requirements
  • Experience developing and documenting protocols and analyzing standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of intelligence community security controls, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
  • Ability to interface with Authorizing Officials (AOs) and Security Control Assessors (SCAs) to ensure timely approvals
  • Ability to maintain and update RMF documentation, including the System Security Plan (SSP) and POA&Ms
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor's degree
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Xacta or eMass
  • Experience coordinating information system security inspections, assessments, and reviews
  • Experience with firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), anti-virus software, or log management
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Knowledge of DoD Raise-the-Bar Controls and Design Patterns

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management.
  • Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas and leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.
