About The Position
Sentar is seeking an Information System Security Officer in VA! The role involves identifying and recommending necessary updates based on security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational objectives. The officer will conduct risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize security risks to the organization's information systems. Additionally, the officer will develop, update, and maintain the organization's security incident response plan, ensuring it aligns with organizational objectives. The position requires ensuring security compliance based on FBI security regulations and standards, following National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) controls. Regular vulnerability and compliance scanning will be performed to support auditing and monitoring of information systems, with findings coordinated with key stakeholders to mitigate vulnerabilities and compliance issues. The officer will implement and maintain security controls throughout all information systems and network environments, maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, standards, configurations, and incidents for compliance and auditing purposes, and participate in security governance activities. Regular reports and updates on the organization's security posture will be provided to management, including identified risks, incidents, compliance status, and remediation efforts. The officer will operate within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and support a 24/7 operational environment.
