About The Position

Provide on-site Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and/or Information Assurance Officer (IAO) support to our F-35 customer. The role involves ensuring proper Configuration Management procedures are followed prior to implementation and contingent upon an established approval process. Responsibilities include initiating requests for temporary and permanent exceptions, deviations, or waivers to IA requirements, assuring successful implementation and functionality of security requirements, and maintaining data needed for system IA reporting. The ISSO will define and implement policies to protect critical infrastructure, ensure plans of actions and milestones for vulnerabilities are in place, and coordinate IA inspections, tests, and reviews. The position also requires evaluating and approving development efforts for baseline security safeguards, participating in risk assessments, and supporting compliance activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma plus 13 years of professional experience.
  • Acquire and maintain security clearance and Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • Knowledge of Federal, DoD, and U.S. Navy Guidance.
  • Experience with general IA Tools.
  • Knowledge of Federal, DoD, and USMC Guidance (DoDD 8500.1, DoDI 8500.2), DITSCAP, DIACAP, NIACAP, NIST, and Certification Accreditation processes.
  • DOD 8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, and CCNA-Security).

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain data needed to meet system IA reporting.
  • Define and implement policies and procedures to ensure protection of critical infrastructure.
  • Ensure plans of actions and milestones for vulnerabilities are in place.
  • Coordinate IA inspections, tests, and reviews.
  • Integrate IA requirements into continuity planning.
  • Evaluate and approve development efforts for baseline security safeguards.
  • Participate in information security risk assessments.
  • Participate in the acquisition process following supply chain risk management practices.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain security plans and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide system-related input on IA security requirements for procurement documents.
  • Recognize and report possible security violations.
  • Recommend resource allocations for secure operations.
  • Supervise or manage protective measures for IA incidents.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff.
