We are looking for an Information Systems Security Engineer to join a growing team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) performs and reviews technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with established cybersecurity standards and regulations. This role designs, develops, implements, and integrates cybersecurity solutions across networking, computing, and enclave environments and supports security authorization activities and RMF processes.

Requirements

  • Twelve (12) years of ISSE experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Recent experience within the last five (5) years in cybersecurity principles and technologies, including access control, authentication, PKI, and enterprise security architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four (4) additional years of ISSE experience may be substituted
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance with IASAE Level II required
  • Twenty (20) years of ISSE experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Recent experience within the last five (5) years in cybersecurity principles and enterprise security technologies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline
  • A Master’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four (4) additional years of ISSE experience may be substituted
  • DoD 8570 / 8140 compliance with IASAE Level III required
  • CISSP-ISSEP certification required for IASAE III compliance
  • US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Responsibilities

  • Perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments
  • Identify points of vulnerability and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Validate system security requirements and establish system security designs
  • Design and integrate cybersecurity solutions for networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Build cybersecurity into systems deployed to operational environments
  • Support development of security architectures
  • Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks across the system lifecycle
  • Support security planning, risk analysis, and certification activities
  • Review certification and accreditation documentation for completeness and compliance
