ABOUT MARING-HUNT LIBRARY (MH) Maring-Hunt Library is located between South View Elementary School and the Wilson Apartments on the south side of Muncie. This branch offers a circulating collection of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and more. MH also provides free public access computer use, free Wi-Fi, low-cost printing and copying, free programs on a variety of subjects, story times for children, programming for teens, book clubs for adults, and community meeting space. Ready Readers early literacy program and Great Achievers after school program are located in Maring-Hunt Library. Free Notary service is available by appointment. Maring-Hunt Library also has an expansive green space that provides pavilions for gatherings, community garden space, a health track, and a StoryWalk book trail. POSITION PURPOSE To assist the Supervisor with effective operation of the Information Services Department.

  • Research and respond to customer queries by utilizing the multiple resources of the Library to obtain correct information
  • Provide Readers Advisory Services and train public on use of library resources and available technology, both individually and in group settings
  • Assist Department Supervisor with collection development and maintenance
  • Plan, promote, and host adult programs and participate in community outreach events
  • Monitor the physical environment, interpret library policies and safety procedures, and exercise judgement to provide effective library service
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to obtain an LC4 or higher Indiana Librarian Certification (IAC 5-1-8)
