About The Position

In this role, you will utilize a variety of tools including Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, .Net Framework, .Net Entity Framework, C#, MVC , WPF and Azure DevOps. The candidate should have entry level background in Information Technology and be able to learn new and emerging technologies within the field. The ideal candidate for this position should have at least one year of professional experience developing using Microsoft technology stack. Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to work in a team environment and be self-motivated. Requirements

  • Requires one year of experience in object-oriented application development, systems analysis, relational database design, and the use of either Windows desktop or web-development programming languages and techniques.
  • Requires one year of experience in the following languages and technologies: C#, .Net, Agile development, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL server, and Office.
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college with course work in application development; or satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program.
  • Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the stated requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs.
  • Requires the ability to work outside of normal hours to meet deadlines.
  • Requires the ability to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, short notice, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Works with experienced systems analyst to develop and implement web and client-based systems using standard department software.
  • Assists more experienced team members in providing assistance to users and Information Technology staff in determining requirements, preparing specifications for test driven development, test scripts, and test data for new or modified programs and systems.
  • Evaluates test results to verify conformance with program objectives.
  • Participates with a senior analyst in user interviews concerning improvements, gathering requirements, changes or corrections of existing computer systems, and with guidance, thoroughly investigates what must be done to implement the desired changes.
  • Codes, tests, and implements Web and client-based systems using the following languages and technologies: Visual Studio, .Net, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Project, MS Office, MS Visio, Windows 10, or Windows 11.
  • With the assistance of a senior analyst, writes and implements test plans to assure correctness of program changes and creates/changes Operations Documentation where applicable.
  • Attends daily scrum meetings and walk through reviews of code and test results either as an observer or participant to assure best practices and adherence to structured design principles and SRS standards.
  • Attends courses at the Training Center or other training facility on systems analysis and computer programming; receives on-the-job training in basic Operations Documentation when applicable to the tasks assigned.
  • Becomes thoroughly familiar with published SRS Development Methodology.
  • May travel in performance of these duties.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
