Under general direction, plans, develops and manages the campus information security programs and operations; develops and implements policies and procedures that protect electronic data, digital assets and network infrastructure from internal and external security threats; monitors security systems to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and report security problems and breaches; conducts audits and scans of networks to assess security risks and vulnerabilities; assists in coordinating and conducting investigations involving District technology resources and coordinating information security training; serves a key role on the District's data breach incident response team; and performs other related duties as assigned. This position is a supervisory role. The work schedule is 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Assembly Bill (AB) 178 & AB 183 provides funding to help address local and system-level disparities in information technology (IT), education technology platforms and security infrastructure. This role is specially funded through a categorical program. Current available funding and this position are scheduled to sunset on 9/30/2028. The continuation of employment in the role beyond this date is contingent on the availability of additional funding source(s).
