About The Position

MEMX is seeking a motivated and curious Information Security Intern to join our Information Security team for the Spring 2026 internship cycle. This part-time internship (January-May) is designed for students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity within a fast-paced, high performance financial technology environment, and interested in pursuing full-time employment at MEMX upon successful completion of the internship. MEMX currently has a U.S. presence in these states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, & Utah.

Requirements

  • Graduating senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity, technology, and financial markets
  • Comfortable working in an Apple environment
  • General understanding of core cybersecurity concepts and terminology, including firewalls, encryption, authentication, and ransomware
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Collaborative and curious mindset, eager to learn from others and contribute to a growing team

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with operating systems, networking principles, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze system alerts, logs, and dashboards to help identify and mitigate potential security threats
  • Assist in vulnerability management activities including scanning, patch verification, and documentation
  • Support the creation and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedural documentation
  • Participate in evaluation and testing new security tools and technologies to strengthen MEMX’s cybersecurity defenses
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Compliance teams to ensure security best practices are implemented across all systems
  • Contribute to ongoing projects focused on identity and access management, endpoint
  • Take part in a summer-long project designed to solve a real-world information security challenge, culminating in a final presentation
  • Share ideas, learn from senior technologists, and gain exposure to how cybersecurity supports the broader mission of MEMX
