As an Information Security Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working directly with the Information Security team at Independent Bank. You will support our efforts in securing our information systems, ensuring compliance with security policies and helping to identify and mitigate potential threats.

Requirements

• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
• Eagerness to learn.
• Must be currently enrolled or recently graduated in a relevant field of study: IT, Risk Management, Information Security.

Nice To Haves

• Industry certifications would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events to identify potential risks.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools, technologies and policies.
• Review vulnerability assessments help prioritize remediations.
• Participate in the development and updating of security documentation, including policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with IT, Risk Management and other functional business areas to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
