In This Role, You Will: Perform all functions required to support daily data security operations. Support and maintain a broad suite of information security infrastructure technologies, and be accountable for maintaining availability, integrity, and confidentiality for the organization. Assist in administering, configuring, and troubleshooting security safeguard technologies and identify, triage, and report security-related events that occur in the environment.

  • Use information security safeguard technologies to monitor, detect, analyze, categorize, and perform initial triage of anomalous activity or alerts.
  • Assist in the planning, design, installation, maintenance and support of security safeguard technologies ranging from but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention & detection systems, enterprise anti-virus and patching solutions, data leakage prevention, two-factor, threat detection, vulnerability scanners, and software deployment tools.
  • Work with IT staff and business units to assess risk and address security issues.
  • Assist in recommending solutions that mitigate and eliminate risk to Mariner Finance assets.
  • Assist in conducting investigations of information systems security incidents and violations.
  • Review systems to determine if they have been designed to comply with established security standards; develop new standards as necessary.
  • Participate in forensics and post-mortem investigations of Information Security incidents while preparing report documents illustrating the findings.
  • Ensure that controls are in place and managed properly to meet legal, regulatory compliance, and auditor requirements of all network and system infrastructures.
  • Assist in the enforcement of security policies from planning, technology safeguards, and remediation for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure the development of and adherence to industry standards and best practices for all Information Security related responsibilities, including datacenters, networks, telephony, systems, databases and applications, etc.
  • Review and recommend the installation, modification or replacement of hardware or software components and any configuration changes that affect or risk security posture.
  • Participate in InfoSec development, testing, and QA functions to ensure projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.
  • Review and complete daily information security checklist to ensure security safeguards are fully operational and pending alerts have been acknowledged.
  • Build and maintain relationships with teams and third parties on security development and support issues.
  • Be a member of the Security Incident Response Team and assist investigating and resolving security incidents.
  • Understand current and emerging security threats.
  • May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or similar).
  • Two (2+) years information security related experience. Prior experience investigating and responding to security related alerts is required.
  • Three (3+) years systems administration experience in a Windows and Linux environment.
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Ruby, or Perl to automate tasks and manipulate data is required.
  • Experience developing technical documents, procedures, training materials and topology maps.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to independently research solutions.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas and concepts to both a technical and nontechnical audience verbally and in writing.
  • Experience maintaining a security program compliant with PCI, ISO, SOX, or HIPPA.
  • Passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills are required.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to meet business needs (standard forty (40) hour week, with occasional after hours and weekend requirements).
  • Security+ or other relevant cybersecurity industry certification.
  • Network administration or engineering experience.
  • Experience safeguarding technologies in Amazon Web Services environments.
