About The Position

The Information Security Engineer 5 at Lam Research is responsible for planning, designing, and building security architectures, overseeing the implementation of network and computer security, and ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies. This role involves monitoring cybersecurity requirements, performing security assessments, configuring firewalls, and responding to cybersecurity incidents. The engineer will also play a critical role in managing insider threats and enhancing the company's insider risk posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, Counterintelligence, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a security engineer in an Insider Threat role.
  • Proven experience in implementing, troubleshooting, and administering Insider Threat and DLP technologies in a global enterprise.
  • Experience with cloud security and cloud-based applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH.
  • Formal education and training in insider threat and counterintelligence.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft E5 security products, specifically Purview DLP, IRM, and Defender.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of behavioral analysis and psychology.
  • Experience within a global semiconductor company or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and build security architectures.
  • Oversee the implementation of network and computer security.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Monitor cybersecurity requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, and firewalls.
  • Perform security assessments using penetration and vulnerability testing.
  • Configure and install firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Implement software fixes to remove system vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to cybersecurity-related incidents and conduct post-event analysis.
  • Investigate intrusion incidents and conduct forensic investigations.
  • Administer security controls and defenses against outside penetration and attacks.
  • Drive tooling requirements to determine anomalous user activities and indicators.
  • Support cross-functional opportunities to identify security trends and metrics.
  • Contribute to regular management reporting on the performance of the Insider Risk Management ecosystem.
