About The Position

Freddie Mac is looking for a senior professional to support the Information Security (IS) department in improving security maturity by performing technical assessments and managing security exceptions in a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) function. You will perform technical security assessments against applications and platforms, track findings to remediation, manage common security metrics, and provide oversight of security risks associated with all operating activities of the Enterprise Operations and Technology (EO&T) organization. The role involves helping teams proactively identify and address risks before they cause harm to the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience.
  • 8 or more years of experience in Information Security, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Familiarity with PKI, encryption in transit, and encryption at rest.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management and Privileged Access Management.
  • Experience with network, infrastructure, or operating system security including system hardening.
  • Experience with Financial Services or other highly-regulated industry strongly preferred.
  • Industry certifications, such as CISM, CISSP, or relevant GIAC certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical security assessments against applications and platforms, and track findings to remediation.
  • Manage common security metrics.
  • Provide oversight of security risks associated with all operating activities of the Enterprise Operations and Technology (EO&T) organization.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating control deficiencies and the associated risks.
  • Support security teams in creating new controls or updating existing controls, creating Standard Operating Procedures, and defining the correct level of evidence to demonstrate control execution.
  • Support security teams in remediating control failures.
  • Provide quality control reviews and guidance to junior staff members.
