About The Position

This is an Information Security Analyst III position within the Florida Department of Revenue’s Information Services Program, located in Tallahassee, and reports to the Information Security Manager. This role serves as a Security Service Owner, responsible for supporting the effectiveness, coordination, and continuous improvement of assigned security capabilities across the Department’s technology environment. The position focuses on how security services operate in practice to protect Department systems and data while supporting business operations, including enabling appropriate access for authorized users while ensuring effective controls are in place to prevent, detect, and respond to unauthorized access. The incumbent works across Security Operations, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), infrastructure, and application teams to evaluate how security capabilities are functioning, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and coordinate improvements, including support for incident management, audit readiness, and service performance measurement. This position requires the ability to translate technical activities into operational and business context and to ensure that security services provide consistent value to stakeholders including executive leadership, program areas, and external partners such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Two years of hands-on experience supporting, operating, or analyzing security controls, systems, or processes.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in security operations, infrastructure, or application support role involving security responsibilities
  • One year of experience with security monitoring or analysis (e.g., SIEM, EDR, or log analysis)
  • One year of experience supporting incident response, vulnerability management, or remediation activities
  • One year of experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) or access control concepts
  • One year of experience supporting audit, compliance, or risk assessment activities in a regulated environment
  • One year of experience working with multiple security tools or technologies in a coordinated manner
  • One year of experience identifying process improvements or translating technical findings into actionable recommendations
