About The Position

The Information Security Analyst I position within the Division of Technology Services (DTS) focuses on supporting local governments in cybersecurity efforts. The role involves performing various information security duties, including policy compliance, monitoring, risk assessments, and incident response. The analyst will also assist local governments in implementing security software and ensuring its proper functionality, contributing to the overall cybersecurity posture of local jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Proven intrinsic characteristics and professional working or educational experience with security operations and information technology.
  • Analytical experience and collaborative characteristics.

  • Awareness and/or understanding of compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local governments to install security software and services, ensuring proper function of provided security services.
  • Set up appropriate scans, reporting, troubleshoot, and review supported security services to ensure they are properly installed and functioning.
  • Assist local governments with navigating and implementing .gov for their websites and email systems.
  • Conduct security consulting with local governments.
  • Conduct cybersecurity-related outreach with local governments through briefs, meetings, presentations, and service onboarding calls.
  • Track, administer, and pursue funding for cybersecurity programs for local governments.
  • Support, track, and manage cybersecurity programs available to local governments.
  • Assist with the implementation of cybersecurity software available to local governments.
  • Assist with the development of cybersecurity best practice policies, procedures, templates, and documentation.
  • Monitor and review threat intelligence and perform threat hunting.
  • Communicate alerts regarding threats, intrusions, and compromises to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls.
  • Monitor and assist with understanding compliance with various regulatory frameworks.
  • Perform and assist entities with risk and vulnerability assessments.
  • Perform and coordinate Security Incident Response activities with local government entities.
  • Assist with security assessments for local government systems/applications.
