About The Position
The IG Matter Mobility Specialist at Stinson LLP is a pivotal role responsible for managing various aspects of matter mobility within the firm. This includes the on-boarding and off-boarding of attorneys and clients, ensuring that all processes are handled with the utmost respect for confidentiality and professionalism. The Specialist will produce a variety of work products related to matter mobility, information security, ethical walls, and legal holds. The position requires effective collaboration with a diverse group of law firm members, including lawyers, paralegals, and administrative staff, to facilitate smooth transitions for attorneys and clients. The Specialist is expected to maintain a thorough understanding of the technology systems utilized by the Information Governance (IG) department and to communicate procedures and standards clearly to others. In addition to managing the logistics of matter mobility, the Specialist will serve as the primary contact for both the receiving and prior law firms, as well as for attorneys and clients regarding the status of transfers, questions, and security measures for client data. This role also involves coordinating with the Recruiting team to ensure a seamless experience for new hires and fulfilling client requests related to file management. The Specialist will track and maintain records of client authorizations necessary for the transfer of records and will be responsible for transferring electronic data securely, ensuring compliance with the firm's security protocols. The position also includes general administrative duties, such as reviewing mailboxes of departed users for client information and performing other assigned tasks. The IG Matter Mobility Specialist must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated, and possess excellent organizational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
