About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for an Information Assurance Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ. This position requires a strong understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories, as well as a solid foundation in cyber security specifications such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and other government security specifications and guidelines. The Information Assurance Engineer will perform or lead security requirements analysis, security requirements definition, system security design, security architecture generation, security trade studies, and security verification and validation with little or no supervision. The role involves regular contact with senior levels of security work groups and requires the ability to lead security work groups effectively. The engineer will categorize vulnerabilities and document recommendations, ensuring that all security designs incorporate lessons learned from previous projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the engineer will need to effectively communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions as they affect the cyber design and implementation. Additionally, the position requires frequent communication with program stakeholders, including product owners, developers, lab personnel, and Systems Security Engineering team members. The ideal candidate will have active cybersecurity certifications such as ISC2 CISSP, a basic understanding of satellite systems and ground systems, and familiarity with DoD security tools like ACAS/Nessus and HBSS/EPO. Understanding Linux systems and real-time and embedded systems is also beneficial for this role.
