The Informatics Education Specialist functions as a knowledgeable EHR consultant, trainer, educator, and evaluator responsible for supporting and training end users on clinical systems functionality and workflows, ensuring optimal use of clinical technology to achieve system-wide strategic priorities. The Informatics Education Specialist applies concepts of adult learning principles, generational learning differences, and learning modalities (auditory, visual, and kinesthetic) to achieve desired outcomes. The Informatics Education Specialist works closely with Information Services, ECU Health operations leadership, and Quality to achieve key responsibilities. Key responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting the training environment, developing educational resources (e.g., tip sheets, e-learning modules) that are thorough and accurate, working administratively with learning platforms, training various user groups (e.g., end users, super users, credentialed trainers), reporting training metrics, providing updates to key stakeholders, participating in rotating 24x7 on call support, and supporting go-live implementations (which may include travel to various ECU Health sites).
