About The Position

The Influencer & Creator Engagement Strategist at General Motors is a pivotal role within the Global Marketing Excellence team, responsible for enhancing brand relevance and engagement for GM's core brands through innovative creator partnerships. This position involves leading influencer campaigns, collaborating with various teams, and redefining GM's influencer marketing strategy to align with broader business goals. The strategist will build a community of brand ambassadors and develop impactful collaborations that resonate with diverse audiences, ultimately driving brand loyalty and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years in social media (campaign support or community management).
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of brand language and tone of voice in the social media space.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Initiative to drive results and problem-solve effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Brief social media agencies on objectives and expectations, ensuring alignment with brand and overarching social goals and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with the social agency to deliver evergreen always-on social strategy and content.
  • Coordinate and maintain the social media content calendar, working closely with cross-functional teams, legal, third parties, and creative teams for key inputs.
  • Lead social media channel management, ensuring adherence to proper formats and best practices.
  • Develop a loyal customer/follower base within the social media community across platforms and interest groups.
  • Organize and lead meetings with internal and external partners to manage content planning, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work with team members, partner agencies, and GM departments during all phases of content development to drive successful execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Analytics partners and agencies to coordinate monthly metrics and insights report meetings.
  • Collaborate with the media team on creative refresh timing and performance analysis.
  • Lead quarterly meetings with social platform partners to discuss best practices and innovative content strategies.
  • Ensure all GMC social channels reflect the proper brand tone and voice.
  • Stay updated on current and emerging social media trends to inform content strategy.
  • Work with global teams to align content sharing and market strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for content utilization across dealer social channels.
