About The Position

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst is seeking a full time Infectious Diseases physician to join as faculty. The role involves working with an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population in a dynamic and supportive academic setting. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation and car from all areas of New York City, New Jersey and Long Island. The physician will join a well-established and growing Infectious Disease Division. The division's ambulatory services are nationally recognized for excellence in primary HIV Care, including a growing prevention program with an emphasis on Sexual Health and HIV PEP and PrEP. Ambulatory services also cover management of viral hepatitis, general infectious diseases, tuberculosis, and tropical infections. Inpatient Consult Teams handle a variety of patients from all departments. Elmhurst is a main site for the Icahn School of Medicine Infectious Disease Fellowship, offering great opportunities for academic growth.

Requirements

  • Physician (MD or DO)
  • Specialization in Infectious Diseases
  • Interest in working with an urban, ethnically diverse, underserved population

Responsibilities

  • Manage viral hepatitis, general infectious diseases, tuberculosis and a host of tropical infections in ambulatory services
  • Participate in inpatient Consult Teams seeing a variety of patients from all departments
  • Participate in the education of Fellows, as well as residents and medical students
