BHSH has an opening for an Infectious Disease Control Consultant. This position will act as an expert/resource for local communities, providers, health care professionals, and the public regarding HIV infection control matters. Duties include: Providing technical assistance and consultation, developing policies and/or protocols and manuals, monitoring providers and/or funded programs for compliance, quality management and evaluation. Advising health care personnel at facilities (e.g., clinics, hospitals, health departments) and the general public statewide on the spread, treatment and containment of HIV/AIDS and accompanying opportunistic infections. Providing updates to HIV CARE Services (HCS) staff and stakeholders on current treatment standards for HIV/AIDS. Maintaining current resource file on HIV/AIDS care and treatment. Providing monitoring, consultation and technical assistance to internal and external customers on matters related to HIV/AIDS quality management and improving viral suppression for Ohioans living with HIV. Developing guidelines and educational/reference materials as needed. Responsible for the development and oversight of clinical quality management activities for Ryan White Part B-funded healthcare providers (e.g., compiles & reviews medical data submitted by providers, provides HIV care-related training to providers). Presenting and participating in conferences targeting health care workers on care guidelines relating to HIV/AIDS, viral suppression, and quality management. Serve as a member of the HCS Quality Improvement Committee and other committees as assigned. Act as a liaison with other state agencies providing services to HIV populations. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is an hourly position, with a pay range of 13 on the 1199 Pay Range Schedule. Unusual Working Conditions: Exposed to unpredictable patient behavior, illness, infectious &/or communicable diseases. Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment: Biennial renewal of license to practice as Registered Nurse. Educational Transcript Requirements: Official educational transcripts are required for all post-high school educational accomplishments, coursework or degrees claimed on the application.
