The Infection Preventionist (IP) is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections. The IP will educate employees and other hospital staff about infection prevention, evaluate patient care practices, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures to maintain rigorous infection control standards that meet the recommendations and requirements of the Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, ODH, CDC, and other national organized agencies. The IP will work under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the Director of Quality Management.
