About The Position

The Infection Preventionist promotes and delivers high quality, patient-centered care by assisting with the administration of Infection Prevention policies, procedures and programs. As a member of the Infection Prevention program and team, the Infection Preventionist identifies, investigates, reports, and monitors the incidence of nosocomial infections among patients and personnel, and implements policies and procedures to prevent cross-contamination. The Infection Preventionist is also responsible for assisting with inservice programs related to infection prevention and infection control, and with the clinical aspects of the Employee Health Program, including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing and surveillance.

Requirements

  • 2 year Associate Degree/Diploma: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Nursing or health-related field required.
  • 1 - 3 years experience.
  • 1+ years experience in Infection Control preferred.
  • 1+ years experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control: CBIC certification preferred within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration of Infection Prevention policies, procedures, and programs.
