Infection Preventionist position details: Facility: Mease Countryside Hospital Location: Safety Harbor, FL Status: Full time, salary Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Weekend Work: Occasional On Call: Yes Since 1985, Mease Countryside Hospital has been raising the standard of care for patients of all ages. Requirements

  • 3 years of Clinical Related experience with RN license and Nursing Degree; OR
  • 3 years Microbiology experience with Medical Technologist Certification and Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Public Health; OR
  • 2 years Infection Control with RN license and Nursing Degree; OR
  • 2 years Epidemiology experience with a Masters Degree in Epidemiology; OR
  • 3 years RRT experience with RRT license and active NBRC Credential RRT with Associates in Respiratory Care
  • CPR Required for Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates effective emotional intelligence, listening, and learning skills and is acquiring baseline knowledge about each department and team in which they interact
  • Develops fundamental infection prevention and control skills including: isolation, surveillance (e.g. hand hygiene, healthcare-associated infection surveillance (e.g. MDRO, CAUTI, CLABSI, VAE, and SSI), reporting appropriate data and information to assigned clinical units or areas and, process metrics data collection, basic analysis, and reporting to local, state, and national public health agencies as required
  • Rotation in the on-call schedule will commence upon manager discretion
  • Assist with education to individuals and groups including at point of care opportunities
  • Additionally, participate in infection control related educational offerings and meetings as well as participating in regulatory readiness
