About The Position

Welcome to a medical center where you're the center of attention. Overlake Medical Center has opportunity for a full time Infection Preventionist. This role collaborates with the Manager on all infection prevention related activities associated with surveillance, performance improvement and education which are intended to ensure that the facility’s patients, staff and visitors will be protected from transmission of diseases and infection within the facility’s environment. Responsible for ensuring compliance with JCAHO Hospital Accreditation Standards, State and CMS regulations, and for facilitating the daily activities of the Infection Prevention Department. Overlake Medical Center is a 349-bed, nonprofit regional medical center offering a full range of advanced medical services to the Puget Sound region. Requirements

  • Graduate of a Nursing program with current licensure or Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Four (4) years of previous work experience in a hospital setting, public health, clinical quality, or performance improvement, preferably in infection prevention OR two (2) years with a Master’s degree.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or obtain within 2 years PLUS one of the following if applicable: If RN, current Washington State RN license If a certified Medical Technologist, the certification must be from the ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) If clinical quality or performance improvement, Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
  • COVID-19 vaccination
