Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Infection Preventionist - Full Time, Days - primarily days, variable as needed. Under the guidance of the Director of Infection Prevention and Control, the Infection Preventionist is responsible for ensuring optimal infection prevention practices across all NYU Langone Health patient care delivery sites. This position minimizes infection risks for patients, employees, and visitors through evidence-based strategies and effective surveillance. The RN Infection Preventionist is responsible for identifying patients at high risk of infections using their clinical expertise. They focus on ensuring patient safety by assessing potential infection risks and collaborating with healthcare teams to implement targeted infection prevention strategies that enhance patient safety and outcomes. The Non-RN Infection Preventionist is responsible for applying specialized knowledge of infection control protocols and data analysis to monitor infection trends. They utilize surveillance systems to track data and report findings, which are used to shape infection prevention strategies. Key responsibilities include auditing infection control practices and data, collaborating with data teams to develop and evaluate surveillance tools, and providing insights on infection trends to guide broader infection prevention initiatives.
