We are seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in both clinical practice and infection prevention. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience not only identifying areas for improvement, but also successfully implementing and sustaining quality improvement initiatives to address those gaps and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards. Position Purpose: Infection Preventionists are experts on practical methods of preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases. Their work also helps reduce the risk of contagious diseases being carried out into the community. Infection control practices include surveillance, investigation of cases and outbreaks, training of staff members, the development and enforcement of infection control policies, and evaluation of the effectiveness of infection control efforts. If an outbreak occurs, infection preventionists track down the source and implement strategies to control the problem. They must be alert to any unusual illness that could signal an outbreak, a new type of infection, or even the first casualty of a bioterrorism attack.
