As an Infection Preventionist, you will implement, promote and maintain an active Infection Prevention Program through surveillance, investigative activities, consultation, education, policy development and research. In this role, you will interact with a multidepartment team of SQPE, accreditation and nursing specialists, serving as a leader in the field. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three years of recent relevant clinical experience, including Nursing, Infection Prevention, Respiratory Therapy or Medical Technology OR CBIC Certification and two years of experience
  • Strong communication, clinical assessment and computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other related programs)
  • Certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) within two years of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveillance for hospital acquired infections, analyze data, generate reports and identify trends.
  • Provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Investigate clusters of infections and outbreaks.
  • Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits on infection prevention practices.
  • Provide education and serve as a consultant to various levels of care providers.
  • Coordinate infection prevention committee meetings and other related activities.
  • Coordinate the annual Infection Prevention Risk Assessment, review and evaluation of the organization's Infection Prevention Plan and report communicable diseases as required.
  • Collaborate with health departments in complying with issues related to outbreaks and control of communicable diseases.
