About The Position

The Infection Preventionist (IP) implements measures that will protect the residents and staff in the community. The IP is responsible for assessing the education needs of the staff and coordinate programs based upon identified needs and ensure State and Federal compliance. Requirements

  • Active Indiana RN license or ability to obtain Indiana license.
  • The Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training through the CDC (can be provided at this facility upon hire), or advanced training in infection prevention and control.
  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Implement measures that will protect the residents and staff in the community.
  • Assess the education needs of the staff.
  • Coordinate programs based upon identified needs.
  • Ensure State and Federal compliance.
  • Effectively educate healthcare staff and patients about infection prevention practices.
  • Lead and motivate others to follow infection prevention practices.
  • Monitor, track, analyze data and trends associated with infections, immunizations and antibiotic use.
  • Create a comforting and engaging atmosphere for our residents.
