Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse - South Mountain Restoration Center
About The Position
In this position, you will perform professional nursing work in the prevention and control of infectious diseases and coordinate mandated infection prevention and control program activities to prevent, detect, and mitigate communicable diseases and infections. Your work will involve recommending and implementing policies, procedures, and processes for identifying, preventing, reporting, and controlling infectious diseases. You will provide related nursing care, conduct outbreak investigations, and conduct infection prevention and control education and training programs. Some of your duties will include overseeing all facets of the infection control program, identifying infection trends, and implementing process improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will monitor the care and treatment of residents, as well as collaborate with facility staff to ensure proper infection control policies and procedures are followed.
Requirements
- Two years of professional nursing experience in a healthcare facility.
- Possession of an Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Certificate of Mastery issued by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONALTC), possession of an active Certified in Infection Control (CIC) certification as issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or possession of an active Long-Term Care Certification in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) certification as issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
- Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
