The Infection Preventionist conducts infection surveillance in the hospital by applying clinical expertise with precision to advance patient outcomes through surveillance, data analysis, reporting and performance improvement. The Infection Preventionist's goal is to minimize the morbidity, mortality, and economic burden associated with healthcare-associated infections (HAI) utilizing the annual hospital wide IPC program in serving our patients, visitors, and staff. The Infection Preventionist will utilize epidemiological principles in collecting and analyzing pertinent data to determine risk factors associated with infections, and will utilize guiding information to seek opportunities for improvement. The Infection Preventionist will serve as subject matter expert, educator, and a resource on infection prevention/control within CM and the community. Some of these services may also be provided while working remotely.
