This position requires an on-site presence at our Great Bend location. The Infection Preventionist I (IP I) demonstrates effective emotional intelligence, listening, and learning skills and is acquiring baseline knowledge about each department and team in which they interact. The IP I develops fundamental infection prevention and control skills including: isolation, surveillance (e.g. hand hygiene, healthcare-associated infection surveillance (e.g. MDRO, CAUTI, CLABSI, VAE, and SSI), reporting appropriate data and information to assigned clinical units or areas and, process measure data collection, analysis, and reporting to local, state, and national public health agencies as required. Portfolio responsibilities include Therapies, Support Services (Housekeeping, Dietary, Transport, Linen), Occupational Health, Bloodborne Pathogen Control Plan, and others as assigned.
