Plan, develop, and implement infection control program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in nursing care facilities. Verify that the facility is in compliance with current CDC, CDPH, LACDPH, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions. Consult in the development and implementation of the Infection Control Program and protocols. Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic techniques that successfully correct problem areas. Implement and manage the facility's antibiotic-stewardship program Perform COVID-19 related monitoring, contact tracing and reporting Coordinate COVID-19 testing and vaccination Develop Infection Prevention and Control [IPC] Training. Assess learning needs and develop training for the facility residents and Healthcare Personnel [HCP]. Create educational goals, objectives, and strategies using learning principles and available educational tools and technology. Conduct adherence monitoring to: Provide feedback to Healthcare Personnel [HCP] and reinforce training concepts. Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and modify them if needed. Directs and coordinates compliance with facilities Antibiotic Stewardship Program and Infection Control Policies and Procedures. Prepare monthly summaries of all resident/personnel infections, corrective action taken, and the results of the corrective action. Submit copies to the Executive Director and Chief Clinical Officer. Prepare summaries of special investigations on the occurrence of nosocomial and community-acquired infections Maintain a written record of all Acquired infections. Participates in clinical meeting; reviews new admissions, new orders, labs/diagnostics, etc. to coordinate compliance with infection control policies and practices. Assist support services in developing, implementing, and conducting in-service training programs relative to infection control. Utilizes epidemiologic principles to conduct surveillance activities and investigations. Must possess the ability to engage tactfully with regulators, facility personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in an understandable manner.
