Infection Prevention and Control Associate I: The Infection Prevention and Control Associate I (IPCA I) in the Infection Prevention and Control Department reports to the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Manager. Under limited supervision, the IPCA I assists the Infection Preventionists (IPs) with implementation of IPC policies and procedures and evidence based practice in assigned areas. The IPCA I assists with surveillance for healthcare associated infections, environmental rounds, performance improvement activities and works collaboratively to reduce infections, improve patient safety and quality of care. Minimum Education: Associates degree in a healthcare related field and at least two years of experience in a related field. The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Minimum Education: Associate degree in a healthcare related field and minimum of five years of work experience in the healthcare related field; or a Bachelor's degree with at least two years of work experience in healthcare and possess certification as an Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC). Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Ability to portray professionalism, positive attitude, enthusiasm and be team oriented in all interactions. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is require d.
