About The Position

We are seeking a self-driven Infection Prevention & Control Nurse (IPIC) to lead and support infection prevention efforts within our surgery center. This role requires a proactive individual who takes initiative, follows through, and continuously looks for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Develop, monitor, and distribute infection control reports Conduct and oversee hand hygiene and various IPIC audits Partner with Central Processing to ensure best practices and compliance Provide ongoing education to staff on infection prevention standards Contribute regular updates and content to the facility newsletter Serve as a resource during patient prescreening for infection-related concerns Ensure timely and accurate reporting to health departments Maintain compliance with Joint Commission standards and APIC guidelines Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives Collaborate with vendors regarding implant education and infection prevention practices

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure
  • Provide direct patient care (approximately 75% of role)
  • Lead infection prevention and control efforts (approximately 25% of role)
  • Experience in infection prevention, perioperative nursing, or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and infection control best practices
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and drive improvements within the role
  • Excellent communication and education skills
