About The Position

We are seeking an Infection Control RN Manager, also referred to as a, ICP Manager or RN Manager of Infection Control and Performance Improvement. The Infection Control/Performance Improvement RN Manager oversees the hospital’s infection surveillance, prevention, and control efforts while leading a comprehensive Performance Improvement program focused on quality, safety, efficiency, and satisfaction. This role supports policy and procedure development, ensures compliance with CDC, OSHA, TJC, CMS, and other regulatory standards, and serves as a key resource for education, exposure response, audits, and hospital-wide infection prevention activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school with an Associate’s Degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or other life science related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • If RN or LPN, then current and valid state nursing license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Must maintain knowledge of local regulatory standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience in reviewing charts for quality care issues.
  • Good computer skills. Detail-oriented organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple cases, directions, and follow-through.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written. Experience with Medical Staff communication.
  • Coordination of internal departments and external entities to ensure compliance with company policies, and state/federal regulatory and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of formal APIC courses in Infection Control, preferred.
  • Completion of Certified Infection Control (CIC) credential, preferred.
  • Expertise in microbiology, antibiotic usage, and clinical practices, preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in acute care, preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in quality improvement, preferred.
  • Team facilitation and experience with hospital accreditation standards and survey process, preferred.
  • Certified professional in healthcare quality preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, TJC or AOA HFAP/DHS/CMS and other regulatory agency directives
  • Oversee hospital infection surveillance, prevention, and control activities
  • Lead the Performance Improvement program to support quality, safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction
  • Provide education and guidance on infection prevention practices to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors
  • Coordinate infection control efforts with committees, medical staff, and hospital departments
  • Conduct audits, safety rounds, and monitoring to ensure readiness and compliance
  • Collaborate with leadership to track outcomes, manage scorecards, and support hospital-wide improvement initiatives
