About The Position

Responsible for the coordination and management of the Infection Control (IC) program within the facility. Provides leadership in the application of IC practice to patient care, organizational process, and/or systems, improving outcomes at the program or service level and will be knowledgeable regarding patient management, and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Biology, or Public Health; no substitutions.
  • An additional two years experience in a medical technologist field.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Epidemiology (MSN or MPH) highly preferred.
  • Appropriate certification in Infection Control preferred.
  • Active member of the Association of Professions in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc (APIC) preferred.
  • Prefer Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certified.
  • Prefer knowledge or understanding of Epidemiology.
