The Infection Control Manager is trained in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAI), educating employees about infection prevention; and the development of health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet TJC, OSHA, Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other nationally organized agencies recommendations and requirements. Will serve as back up to the employee health RN as needed for employee surveillance and assistance with workers’ compensation. Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization’s infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning. Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of healthcare acquired infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis. Monitors local, state, and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies’ standards and requirements. Assists with the development of educational resources and initiatives Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.
