Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing; valid Indiana State license to practice as a Registered Nurse and demonstrates an understanding of the epidemiology and infectious disease principles in the hospital.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and experience with infection control preferred.
  • A thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards.

Nice To Haves

  • MSN preferred.
  • Nursing leadership in training and formulating curriculum preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee infection control measures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment within the hospital.
  • Develop and update infection control policies in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and promote adherence to best infection control practices in patient care; fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with infection control policies and procedures across the hospital.
  • Conduct investigations in the event of infectious disease outbreaks and formulate effective response strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement timely and appropriate interventions during outbreaks.
