About The Position

Responsible for the coordination and management of the Infection Prevention (IP) and Employee Health program within Cherokee Nation: W.W. Hastings Hospital (60-bed hospital), CNOHC, and monitors/consult IP activities throughout Cherokee Nation Health Services (10 ambulatory centers) and all tribal entities. Provides leadership in the application of IP practice to patient care, organizational process, and/or systems, improving outcomes at the program or service level and will be knowledgeable regarding patient management, and patient safety.

Requirements

  • Master's degree; no substitutions.
  • At least two (2) years of experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • An individual should know Database software, Design software, Human Resource systems, Internet software, Inventory software, Manufacturing software, Order Processing systems, Payroll Systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Appropriate certification in Infection Prevention is preferred.
  • An active member of the Association of Professions in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC);
  • OR
  • Must be currently licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle of eel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to correct/adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be exposed to wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particle, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, work with explosives, risk of radiation and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
