About The Position

Collaborate with the Early Childhood Service Coordinator, Head Teacher, Family Advocate, and families, to plan and implement the Head Start educational program for preschool children to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. Carry forth the Vision, Mission and Core Values of the agency and adherence to all agency and program policies Team with the Head Teacher in daily operations, working with both children and parents. This will include, but not limited to, preparation and cleaning of the learning environment and all parts of the daily routine with children Ensure the safety of all children by providing active supervision of the children at all times and a safe sanitary organized learning environment. Be knowledgeable of the agency selected curriculum and social emotional approach, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, and ODE Early Learning Development Standards. Collaborate in completion of developmental screenings of all children in compliance with time frames. Observe and document children’s developmental progress utilizing the agency selected ongoing assessment tools. Collaborate with Head Teacher to complete home visits and parent/teacher conferences. Collaborate in developing at home inkind activities for each child through the agency selected digital inkind system. All positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with a CDA or equivalent; or agree to be enrolled in a CORS approved and paid accredited Child Development (CDA) program and achieve completion of CDA program within two years of start date.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, bend, and reach.
  • A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer.
  • Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.
  • All positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
