About The Position

We are so much more than a childcare center. Interested? Please continue reading! Long Beach Day Nursery (LBDN) is growing our early childhood teaching team. We have full-time Infant/Toddler Teacher positions available at both of our branches! Please see our website for exact locations. If you are passionate about working with children, look no further! Our teachers have the important responsibility of instructing children in developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for child development. You will have the opportunity to supervise and assist children with general routines, such as feeding, mealtime, diapering, and potty-training activities. You will also prepare lesson plans, maintain an organized environment, and update all educational equipment and materials. Teachers supervise the assistant teachers, teacher aides, substitute teachers, ROP students, interns and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 ECE units required.
  • Minimum of 3 units in Infant and Toddler Care required to be eligible for infant/toddler classroom placement.
  • Must be eligible for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (or higher).
  • Maintain a collaborative, team-player attitude while working with a successful team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent patience and enjoy creating a fun environment.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Capable of remaining punctual with great time-management skills.
  • Nurturing, friendly, positive attitude and professional.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree (or higher) in ECE, preferred.
  • Experience with infants and toddlers a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct children in developmentally appropriate activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
