About The Position

The Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher at Kids Empowerment Learning Academy (K.E.L.A.) is responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves fostering positive relationships with children and parents, implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, and supporting the social and emotional growth of students. The position is available for both full-time and part-time teachers who are enthusiastic about early childhood education and making a difference in the community.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certification preferred.
  • Must provide a negative TB skin test.
  • Must be able to meet all child care licensing requirements.
  • Previous experience working with children preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained/maintained throughout employment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow directions, make good judgments, and be reliable and dependable.
  • A positive attitude and a high energy disposition are essential.
  • Must be active and able to keep up with small energetic children during the entire shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children in a preschool setting.
  • Additional certifications in early childhood education.

  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with parents and children.
  • Help ensure a well-run, purposeful program responsive to the needs of the children.
  • Maintain a commitment to professionalism and excellence.
  • Support the social and emotional development of the children and provide positive guidance.
  • Attend and implement the training received in the day-to-day operations of the preschool classroom.
  • Implement class curriculum, activities, and experiences in a developmentally-appropriate manner, meeting the needs of the students.
  • Facilitate a classroom that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children.
  • Promote a team concept through positive interactions with children, parents, and other staff.
