Pay rate for this position: $16.71 / hr - $18.75 /hr The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in ECE, child development or a related field or an Infant/Toddler CDA
  • At least one year of daycare experience as a teacher and/or assistant in an infant or toddler classroom
  • Demonstrate knowledge of NYS child care regulations
  • Must be able to get on the floor and play with infants and toddlers as well as lift up to 45 pounds
  • Must be a sensitive mature person who is able to relate well to both children and adults

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and supervise the program for the class consistent with policies, philosophy and curriculum
  • Keep the classroom in compliance with all NYS regulations
  • Maintain required documentation
  • Gear program to the needs of individual children in concern for their interests, special needs and talents and pace of learning
  • Teach proper health care in regards to toileting, nutrition, dental, physical care and cleaning of the children if necessary
  • Maintain the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor and learning environment of the classroom
  • Communicate with parents regarding information concerning their child and their daily activities, and inform the director of any parent concerns
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings and conferences
