Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary: Manages, Tracks, and Inventories Human milk. Prepares and packages feedings of human milk and powdered formulas for infants and children. Daily breast milk/formula preparation and distribution; managing breast milk storage and tracking, maintaining the supplies in the Milk Lab, cleaning and storing equipment in the Milk Lab, other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma General or GED General
  • BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Basic computer skills
  • Customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited Program Medical Assisting Preferred
  • Experience in food preparation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Uses barcode scanning technology in conjunction with safety policies/procedures to manage, track, and inventory human milk.
  • Follows infection control and environment of care procedures in maintaining Infant nutrition lab.
  • Cleans cribs, isolettes, radiant warmers, and all other equipment according to approved policies.
  • Adheres to Infection Control Standards/spot cleans unit as needed.
  • Answers phones, covers nurses reception desk as needed.
  • Runs errands to the pharmacy, lab, way, as requested.
  • Removes from unit or reports equipment/furniture in need of repair.
  • Reacts promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Complete daily census sheets indicating formulas prepared.
  • Maintain sanitation of the preparation area.
  • Manage unit supply of Human Breast Milk and prepares feedings for infants in the NICU.
  • Prepares feedings according to standardized recipes as provided by the Registered Dietitian responsible for the nutritional care of the infants.
  • Supports breastfeeding through positive interactions with families and staff.
  • Assist in training other employees in infant feeding preparation and proper handling techniques, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
