We are looking to hire an Infant Nutrition Tech. As an Infant Nutrition Tech at MercyOne, you will Under supervision this position is accountable for the preparation of infant feedings assigned within the NICU. Reviews feeding plans and medical orders to address the specific nutritional needs of each infant for accurate preparation of feedings using breast milk, donor breast milk, formula, fortifiers, and other additives. Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies related to the institution's plan for enteral feeding. Performs all duties in a manner that supports team concept. Schedule: 8-hour shifts; Saturday & Sunday 7:00 PM – 3:30 PM; rotating holidays General Requirements: Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Prepares and delivers all infant feedings as ordered. Verifies all infant feeding orders with Ordering Provider/Registered Nurse for accuracy and obtains standardized recipes as needed. Prepares feedings accurately according to established written formulations according to quality control and infection control standards. Uses correct techniques to measure powders and liquids. Accurately identifies individual patient feeding and applies proper labeling. The Infant Nutrition Tech will verify prepared feedings in the computer with RN prior to delivering feedings to the patient room refrigerators. Maintains daily records of patient profiles or updates computerized patient profile regarding infant feeding orders. Uses computer system to update patient feeding orders and to print labels and production lists, communicates with health care personnel regarding orders.
