About The Position
The Early Childhood Head Teacher (Infants) at SLO Classical Academy is a vital role responsible for nurturing and educating infants in a supportive and engaging environment. This position requires a passionate individual who is committed to classical education and the holistic development of children. The Head Teacher will meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of all children in the program, ensuring a safe and positive learning atmosphere. The role is full-time, typically working from 9:15 am to 5:15 pm, and involves collaboration with other staff members, including Assistant Teachers and Aides, to create a cohesive educational experience for the students. In this position, the Head Teacher will be expected to provide quality instruction and learning opportunities tailored to the developmental stages of infants. This includes spending time on curriculum development, lesson planning, and preparing engaging activities that align with the educational goals of SLO Classical Academy. The Head Teacher will also participate in various school events and meetings, such as IEPs and Family Action Plans, to ensure comprehensive support for each child's development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, with at least three years of teaching experience and a minimum of 12 ECE units, including coursework focused on caring for infants and toddlers. The role requires a valid CPR certification and a clean medical certificate, including updated immunizations. Familiarity with technology and a commitment to the mission of SLO Classical Academy are also preferred attributes for this position. Overall, the Head Teacher will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for the youngest learners at SLO Classical Academy.
