About The Position

As an Infant Assistant Teacher at Primrose School of Acworth, you will play a crucial role in fostering the development of young children. This position involves planning and implementing educational activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child, following the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach. You will be responsible for supervising a group of children, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, and collaborating with parents and the leadership team to assess and support each child's developmental needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling and safety.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in early childhood education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
• Observe and adhere to all health, safety, and care regulations.
• Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules according to the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with the Leadership Team.
• Maintain an attractive and well-kept classroom that encourages exploration and decision-making.
• Provide verbal recognition and clear expectations for children's behavior.
• Handle maintenance and housekeeping duties for the classroom and common areas.
• Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
• Maintain a professional appearance as per the Primrose Employee Handbook.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director or designee.
